Retaining Walls
Retaining walls are structures built to hold back soil or other materials on a slope. They can be used to create level areas for patios, gardens, or other purposes. Retaining walls can also be used to prevent erosion and protect property from landslides.
We install retaining walls using a variety of materials, including concrete blocks, natural stone, and brick. The type of material we use will depend on the height of the wall, the soil conditions, and the desired aesthetic.
Installation
To install a retaining wall, we first excavate the area where the wall will be built. We then level the ground and compact the soil. Next, we lay a foundation of crushed stone or gravel. The foundation helps to distribute the weight of the wall and prevent it from settling.
Once the foundation is in place, we begin to build the wall. We stack the blocks or stones, one on top of the other, and secure them with mortar or adhesive. We continue to build the wall until it reaches the desired height.
After the wall is built, we backfill the area behind it with soil. The backfill helps to support the wall and prevent it from collapsing. We also compact the backfill to ensure that it is stable.
